I want to show .PL5 files in my viewer. Would this preview be OK or should the dimensions be different (eg. to make to easier to edit in Gimp?)

IMHO, this preview is perfect. It will be very easy to import the palette into the Gimp. Smile

If you have Windows and want to see how it works:

I have a Mac, but it seems to run fine under Wine. Nice work, it's blazingly fast! Big smile

The .PLx palette viewer is excellent like this. Very easy to use, very easy to export to a PNG image to be imported on GIMP.

My only suggestion is to use only colors of each palette to draw the respective line of grid. Chose the darkest color of each palette for that.

I made my own viewe for linux. It only lacks SC3 yet, but can load separate .Pat & .Col blocks (ya know, only pattern data or only color data, if it finds both with same name, loads boths) and .Map files (nametable).
Can load/save palette (still need to show it too!) on MSX2 modes and convert to sprite. It's aimed to developing, so it's never going to show any non-MSX format Tongue

But I want to pythonize so it gets more multiplatform. And to round the usability, maybe merge with my SC2 editor, but then you know... you want to add more and more stuff and you never finish it :RNFF:
