I guess reading is realy difficult in this day and age
and of course msx is not dead, else they wouldn't have put
out the OCM.
ehm good one
But why release an ocm if the retranslated stuf doesnt work
A bit weird Revival just like a re release of a special car but you cant drive on the road but only in a restricted Area
btw is there a MSX logo on the package?
Maybe put a pc logo instead on de game package
I think it would be good to maybe put the MSXPLAYer logo on there instead of the MSX logo. I don't mind that the games are only playable in an emulator, but to avoid confusion I think its good to state that its not a game for 'real' MSXes. (I see a new controversial debate on whether an emulator is real or not )
it's like Santa: it's real for those who believe it's real ..
They're the real games, I know that much
I guess an extra little disclaimer about system requirements (or: what you can't use) could perhaps be a good idea.
However, only the people from Bazix know how often this confusion happens. And personally, I don't think it happens too often (or that disclaimer would've been there already).
Welcome to the WOOMB games library, a selection of the best retro games ever released, now playable on your ordinary Windows PC. <---------------------------------------------------------
The system requirements for the WOOMB launcher and the games you can obtain at WOOMB are as follows:
- A 500Mhz processor or higher (800Mhz or higher is recommended)
- A computer running Microsoft Windows (tm) 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 or XP
- A video card capable of displaying a resolution of 640x480 with 16bit colors
- A sound card compatible with DirectX5 or higher
I don't think directx, windows 98 and higher or 800 MHZ has ever been implemented
in the real msx.
PLAY ON WINDOWS PC..... DOES NOT MENTION PLAYS ON MSX ANYWHERE
It realy says this on the woomb page all over, or are you calling me stupid ?
I've bought XAK translation and I will test it under a VMWare session in my laptop... let's see if it works great. Of course I'd be happy if it were working in my TurboR too (who knows? I pressume it will do soon, someday, too ). The PDF manual is great too!!
I will buy the other translated games soon, too.
@poke: No one is calling you stupid, but saying it's on the Woomb pages all over, isn't true either. Typing woomb.net in the browser, clicking on XAK, there is no mention what so ever this can only be played on a PC. There are a few references to MSX2 (Released on: MSX2, and "The version we offer you is the MSX2 release. Xak was released for other systems (e.g. SNES, X68000, PC-8801) as well. ". The things you mention are at least one click further (games library, FAQ) and can easily be missed by the ocasional visitor.
why doesn't anyone call me stupid ? come on guys, please
Nah I see it's under different parts, but if you buy
something you prolly want to double check it anyway I guess.
Though indeed as you say it isn't mentioned, you would
be able to get it from the context of the site...but hey...
