Development is not finished yet but if they end up for sale you need to get in touch with Sharksym, he’s the mastermind developer and producer of this and many other great MSX products before this (like MMCSD, paraMSX-R, PAC-V, etc.)
This project is very interesting. I have two questions about it.
- Why not have used an LPC to reproduce the R800 instead of taking a z80 which probably does not have the multiplication instructions?
- It's a great idea to do a turbo like this but why limit it to the MSX2+? Is it a technical limitation?
VDP should not prevent using turbo mode. Software for Turbo R can't work without V9958 but the turbo mode is interesting for many other things. For example, if Sofarun would support it, browsing in files would be fast.

Yes support for MSX1/2 should be possible imho, as Sharksym is also the developer of MMCSD, which has MSX-DOS2 kernel and not Nextor, MSX1 support may need some more time (depends a bit on whether the utilities will work under Nextor with e.g. MFR, C2, etc. as boot device).
