@Zeilemaker54 : I don't see this instruction in the FS-CM1 rom.

Besides, it leads to "Syntax error" on emulated FS-A1FM (probably because the modem emulation is missing).

What is it supposed to do? And what's the difference with CALL TELCOM?

Syntax error would not be from missing hardware imho. It could mean a parameter may be required.

I've found the answer. It was to connect to BT Japan Co., the Japanese service of British Telecom.

See https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/BT%E3%82%B0%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BC%...

"日本では、BTジャパン株式会社として1985年より赤坂のアークヒルズにて日本での事業を開始し、東京に事業所を開設する最初の外資系通信事業者になった"

"In Japan, BT Japan Co. , Ltd. started its business in Japan at Ark Hills in Akasaka in 1985, and became the first foreign-affiliated telecommunications carrier to open a business office in Tokyo."

Indeed, the syntax seems to be CALL BTELCOM(Number). On emulator, it leads you to the same pages as CALL TELCOM, probably because the modem is not emulated. As this service for MSX is no more available, it's difficult to know what was the real effect.

Correct. I am (for some time) in the proces of disassembly of the different MSX modem firmware versions. Also the MSX modem BASIC and BIOS functions.
