The Duel is 1MB indeed. And the Carniovore 2 configurable MegaRAM is also 1MB. I see that SofaRun is not using the C2 RAM for this game (maybe that's a mistake? Or does it need a bit of that RAM for something else as well?). Anyway, SofaRun is refusing to use the Carnivore 2 RAM for this 1MB game ...

a FM-Pac is recommended. Or dont upgrade the ram and with the money saved buy a MegaF Or dont upgrade the ram and with the money saved buy a MegaFlashRom SCC cartridge from msxcartridgeshop.com. Then you only need 64KB ram to run games like Metal Gear 2. Though 128KB would be a minimum IMHO ...

execrom doesn't detect or use 1ChipMSX's ESE-RAM. No problem, I found NGLOAD runs both games ... all I can load with execrom is 32KB roms, not megaroms (because execrom loads them in RAM instead of megaRAM). I can already run megaroms with romload, but just for curiosity... why does execrom say that? ...
