More than a year ago, Wolf_ initiated this forum topic on our active MSX Forum, discussing whether or not it would be nice to re-arrange classic tunes originally composed by members of the MSX Community.
On December 23rd, 2005 we started the MRC Scene Music Remake Challenge. Now, a bit more than 10 weeks later, the challenge has closed. In total, twelve entries were submitted to the challenge.
On December 23rd we started the MRC Scene Music Remake chalenge. Due to some trouble on our web/mailserver we might have missed out one or more entries.
And there they are, the results of the MRC Scene Music Remake challenge. All twelve entries were rated by Loek van Kooten who was active as, amongst others, the composer of the Dutch MSX group MSX-Engine in the 1990's. Without further ado, here's the ranking:
- 1.
Within 6 weeks after switching to our new host, we already moved to another server (at the same host) that fits our needs even better. Due to this move, you might have entered our site through a redirection script.
MRC Snowfall Challenge
It's almost December which means winter, Christmas and short dark days in which it's tempting to use your computer(s) even more than usual. As we all know, the MSX is a lovely computer system to develop for, so the MSX Resource Center challenges you to do exactly that.
What's the challenge?
On November 22nd we started the MSX Resource Center snowfall competition. Now, only six weeks later, our first challenge has come to an end. And once again, the MSX Community demonstrated that and why MSX is still alive. We received no less than 25 snowfall demo's, created by a wide range of developers coming from all over the world.
Only two days after we started the MRC Snowfall Challenge we received the first submission.
Today we received the second entry for the MRC Snowfall Challenge. Using a MSX Resource Center screenshot as a background, WYZ (aka Maso Jose) lets the snow fall on your MSX. This demo was coded in Assembly. Its source code is included, so if you are curious you can have a look at how things were done.
