Norakomi of the new MSX development group RenovatiO has revealed one of the BGMs from their upcoming MSX game Space Manbow 2 (a fangame based in -indeed- Konami's impressive shooter Space Manbow on the MSX game music website
HackUrl released a Space Manbow cover in MP3 format. It's the tune of the first end-boss in Space Manbow.
Every now and then, a game remix pops up in the MSX scene. While discussions about MSX videochips and videochips on other systems keep us busy, the current poll indicates that we're all rather confident with the soundchips we already have on MSX. When using extensions such as the SCC and FM-PAC, games usually sound quite symphonic and certainly larger than quite a few other systems.
Space manbow ringtone
Revix station created a ringtone of Konami's classic shooter Space Manbow.
The Japanese composer Hackurl has released a NES style remix of the tune to stage 2 of Konami's amazing shooter Space Manbow.
The Japanese compuser MAD has released yet another series of MSX related MP3 files. On his website you can now found re-arranged songs from Level 4 or Gradius 2, the Space Manbow battle theme and two Twinbee songs.
SPL's lost Airwaves entry
When we started the MRC Airwaves Challenge, SPL decided to compose an MSX-MUSIC tune for it in Tyfoon's Protracker. After finishing the song he made an MP3 recording of it and sent it, together with the protracker file, in to the MRC.
In 1988, Scaptrust released one of the most famous adult games on MSX: Starship Rendezvous.
The Japanese composer Hackurl released two interesting songs: an MSX+SCC version of 'Stream', a song from Konami's Castlevania 3 and an arrangement of one of the BGMs of Gall Force (subtitled PSG Power). Both are well worth listening to.
Sunday papa
DRM released a new track called Sunday Papa in MP3 and MGS format on his DrMSX Soundwork website. The song was composed on MSX and uses the PSG, OPLL and SCC soundchips.
