Flyguille has released the sources of the SHELL of MNBIOS. To be more specific, this are the sources for the files MSXCOMMAND.EXEC and INSTALL.EXEC which, when combined, make the MNBIOS Interface itself.

Flyguille has given us a status update on his MNBIOS (MSX Non Basic Input Output System), a new OS for the MSX2 platform which can replace the original BIOS. The developer is inspired by the One Chip MSX-project and wants to stretch his MNBIOS beyond its current limits.

Trilobyte-MSX just released a beta of their new MB1.4 player.

A new version of MSX Acid2Test has been released. New in this version:

  • It now has distinct I/O input and output ports from/to the VDP. This catches programming mistakes on handling the VDP.DR and VDP.DW (0006h & 0007h) BIOS variables
  • Fixed a bug on MSX-DOS2 support

The MSX-AcidTests are virtual machines sd_snatcher created to help him with the ungrateful task of testing software he develops/patches.

On the website of MSX Association an MSX-BASIC programming competition has been announced. The objective of the contest is to create a BASIC listing that is no longer than 5 screens at WIDTH 40 when listed. Games, demo's, music and utilities are all allowed, and so are international entries.
