MSX Computer Magazine online - update

Dutch readers, especially those who lack early issues of MSX Computer Magazine in their collection, will be delighted to know that some of the really old issues have finally been put online. This is a fairly large project, so it's not complete yet. It's not just about scanning the lot, it's also about acquiring permission to publish these old articles. Not every author has been found yet.

NYYRIKKI has written an article about running MSX ROM-games on SVI machines

The Spanish (retro)video gaming blog have recently published several articles on MSX related games in their Retrovision corner.

Many MSX fans know that MSX was also available the Arab World, but despite spotting the odd Sakhr MSX computer or a Holy Quran application on cartridge it is rare to get information about the popularity our favorite 8-bit platform had in the middle east. Danderma wrote an article that tells the story of how the life of a Kuwaiti family changed when the Sakhr computer arrived and how MSX inspired Danderma to become a computer engineer. You will find out that MSX was so popular that its games were once played on a TV series. In fact, it was hard to find someone that didn't own an MSX at the time! In a nutshell: a must-read!

One of the purposes of the MSX Resource Center is to show the world that MSX is still alive. This is why we sometimes try to get some exposure on websites and magazines that are not directly related to MSX. Often, we get very nice reactions, and every now and then some of the 'old guys' come back to the MSX community, increasing the activity of MSX developments.

On May 2nd we started the Get MSX in the Media Challenge, asking our visitors to try and get some attention on MSX in any kind of media.

Earlier today we closed the first round of the MSX in the Media Challenge, which resulted in a grand total of 80 nominations. Over here you can vote for which MSX in the Media event you liked the most.

Hideo Kojima did it again. Whilst promoting the release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater on the Spanish TV Station, he mentioned the MSX computer system.

Many MSX freaks know Wammes Witkop, who published and edited the MSX Magazine MCM (and later published the MSX Magazine MCCM) for many years. Last year Wammes briefly returned to the MSX computer by acting as the main juror of the MRC Snowfall Challenge.
