Effect

Writes text on a bitmap screen (5 to 8, 10 to 12) without need to first use the OPEN instruction.

Syntax

CALL DFONT (<X>,<Y>,"<Effect><Text><Effect>")

The <Effect> parts are optional.

Parameters

<X> is coordinate X of the point to start writing of text on the screen (0-255/511)

<Y> is coordinate Y of the point to start writing of text on the screen (0-211)

<Effect> is optional and specifies an effect to be used for writing of text on the screen:

  • [B for a 'bold' text
  • [I (unknown effect)
  • [P for a special effect
  • [R for inversion of colors between foreground and background
  • [T (unknown effect)

Several effects can be combined.

Note that using twice the same effect, first before the text, then after the text, has as result to go back to normal writing mode after display of the text.

<Text> is the text to be written on the screen.

The combination effect+text can be replaced by a string-variable.
