Effect

Sends a message to a specific student. This instruction is available only for the teacher.

Syntax

CALL MESSAGE (<Message>,<StudentNumber>)

Very short version: _MESS (<Message>,<StudentNumber>)

The last parameter is optional. Parameters can not end with a comma alone.

Parameters

<Message> is a text of maximum 56 characters. It will be displayed on line 24 of the student SCREEN in text mode (screen 0 or 1). The length of the message that can be displayed is also determined by the current WIDTH of the screen.

If the student computer is not in text mode, the message is displayed when the student goes into text mode.

By pressing the SPACE key, the message will disappear except if the student computer is in KEY OFF mode: in this case, the message will remain as usual text on the screen (it will scroll up with other text on the screen, you can edit it, etc.)

<StudentNumber> can vary from 1 to 15. When omitted or equal to zero, the message will be sent to all students.
