CMD SWITCH in Memext Basic

Effect

Switches from one 32kB RAM block to the other 32Kk RAM block (only on MSX1 computers with 64kB RAM).

Additional effects are possible if you use one of the optional parameters:

  • copies content of source block in destination block
  • stops execution of BASIC program

Syntax

CMD SWITCH [COPY|STOP]

Parameters

When used without any parameter, this instruction will only load the other 32kB RAM block in active RAM.

COPY is used to make a copy of the original 32kB RAM block in the new block, while doing the switching operation.

STOP is used to stop the execution of the BASIC program while doing the switching operation.
