Description

The Casia Tyzack 64-M was produced between 1987 and 1989 by the Dutch company Casia. It is basically the combination of an modified Sony HB-F9P MSX2 used as main computer with a Toshiba HX-10P MSX1 used as sampler subsystem.

Besides, this transputer system has

  • an homebrew black and white digitizer with a resolution of 256 x 256 pixels
  • two stereo Philips SAA1099 sound generators with 6 channels per generator
  • a General Instrument SPO256-AL2 speech synthesizer (64 phonems)
  • an homebrew stereo AD/DA sampler, with its own RAM (partly inspired by the Doepfer/Elektor sampler, though much less sophisticated) - this sampler was external on the models released before 1989
  • an homebrew 48T interface for music keyboard
  • a MIDI interface (AY-3-1015 UART)
  • an RS-232C interface
  • a specific ROM that adds new instructions to BASIC - see Tyzack64M BASIC

64-M means that its RAM is theorically extendable to 64 Megabytes.
