Clubguide Picturedisk was a bi-monthly disk magazine filled with demos, promos and news from the MSX demo scene. Its audience was international though most of its contents was made by Dutch groups and individuals.

Clubguide Picturedisk 06 was released in December 1990 by Genic. The general design has been conceived by the Redsoft team, with help from Fony, Genic and Station Group members.

The menu and the Hammer demo use a RAM version of the runtime compiler X-BASIC (file SELECTOR.BIN with CALL STATI ON and CALL STATI ON2 as replacements for CALL TURBO ON and CALL TURBO OFF).

Another version of this compiler is used in the BCF promo (file BCFEEEE.017 with CALL SPEED IN and CALL SPEED OUT as replacements for CALL TURBO ON and CALL TURBO OFF).

The interface and all parts of this demodisk are for MSX2 and higher.

Frequency Selector

You can go directly to the menu by pressing the Q key on the frequency selector screen.

The intro has been created by Fony in screen 8 with MSX-MUSIC melodies. Use the keys 1 to 8 to hear another music.

Fony Fire

A first prerelease of the Fony Demodisk 1 that was currently in development. This part contains a sinus-scroller, fireworks in the background and a bouncing FONY logo. It uses screen 8 and an original SCC music, written with the SCC Musixx utility.

The logo can be controlled by the user. After pressing the CAPS key on the keyboard, use the F key with one of the cursor keys.

Direct launching is not possible as this demo has been integrated to the routines of the picturedisk.

The Bass Demo

SCC demo in screen 7, created by the Merla Soft and XelaSoft teams. You need a memory mapper of at least 128kB RAM to launch it.

It includes all the musics and sound effects from Metal Gear 2, but also original compositions. The text scroll is very long, will you survive to that?!

  • A,B,C - 1st music selection
  • A-Z, a-z - 2d music selection (Metal Gear 2)

An original diagonal text scroll, conceived by Shadow. In screen 5 with MSX-MUSIC music.

It was a good way to promote a megademo, that does not seem to have been released.
