Introduction

Clubguide Picturedisk was a bi-monthly disk magazine filled with demos, promos and news from the MSX demo scene. Its audience was international though most of its contents was made by Dutch groups and individuals.

Clubguide Picturedisk 11 was released in December 1991 by Genic. The general design has been conceived by the Redsoft team, with help from ANMA, Shadow and Unicorn Corporation.

The interface and all parts of this demodisk are for MSX2 and higher. See also section about the musical files.

This demodisk comes with original musics in the FAC Soundtracker 1 format (Foundation II Promo, Mirror Scroll, News) or the FAC Soundtracker 2 format (Moonwalker, Terminator Promo).

It was the last issue before Sunrise took over and started counting from 1 again.

Content

Frequency Selector / Intro

Cpd11 freq.png

The frequency selector by ANMA also served as the overall intro this time.

As explained in the scroll, the music composed for this intro is like a tribute to PSG, as it does not use MSX-MUSIC and is called 'PSG Rules Real Hard'.

Menu

Cpd11 menu.png

Shadow continues to use their platform game as menu for the Picturedisks, this time with a melody in the First Rate Music Hall format. Once again, each door contains content, and this time it's possible to start contents by hitting a numerical key.

The player can only walk, fall and climb ladders, it's not possible to jump. When standing still, the player character starts doing random things, fiddling with himself, somewhat more radical than on Clubguide Picturedisk 8 when studied closely.

The map of this menu can be found here.

It includes a melody for MSX-AUDIO or MSX-MUSIC. When both sound chips are present, MSX-AUDIO is automatically selected.

It is possible to enjoy a great stereo mode, you just need to replace the FST.BIN driver by STL2.BIN (driver used in STL 2.11 created by C.S.I and E.M.P.). However, you must delete the existing MIRROR.BIN file and rename STL2.BIN as MIRROR.BIN.
