Effect

Fills a window with the character corresponding to a specified ASCII value.

Syntaxes

  • FILL #<WindowNumber>,<CodeNumber>
  • FILL #<WindowNumber>,ASC("<Character>")

Parameters

<WindowNumber> is a number between 1 and 9. It must always be preceded by # and correspond to a window previously defined with the WINDOW instruction.

<CodeNumber> is the code number of a character between 0 and 255. (See this page about codes description)

According the localisation of the used MSX computer or the used mode on Arabic machines, the results can vary.

The <CodeNumber> can be replaced by ASC("<Character>") where <Character> is a character between quotation mark. It can also be a string or an alphanumeric variable but only the 1st character will be taken into account.
