This page was last modified 15:22, 28 May 2020 by Mars2000you.

Below is an overview of MSX-DOS 2 error messages.

Notes:

  • Error 0 means No error.
  • Errors 1 to 63 are reserved to user errors (can be used by external tools).
  • Errors 64 to 255 are reserved to system errors (defined by the system).
  • User errors below 32 never display an error message.
  • System errors marked with (*) don't display an error message, although they correspond to an internal error.
  • The EXIT command can be used with an error number.
  • The _ERROR internal variable can return the error code of the previous command - however, when the error is transferred to an appropriate routine, it wil not return the real error code, but the code 1 (Error user).
