Description

PCM means Pulse Code Modulation, it is used to digitally represent sampled analog signals.

On the MSX system, only the official MSX Turbo R computers have the standard PCM sampling system inside: Panasonic FS-A1GT and Panasonic FS-A1ST.

Notes:

  • PCM support can also be found in most MSX-AUDIO cartridges, and the SIMPL/Covox DIY hardware is an interesting option too
  • Appropriate software can also generate samples with the PSG and MSX-MUSIC soundchips, or even the keyclick
