Description

The LPE-MMC-V8BKP is an SD interface by Padial that supports two SD cards each up to 2GB. It was sold without case.

Compared to the V7 series, V8 boost the data bus mainly for old MSX1.

The interface was sold €70.

Minimum Requirements

  • MSX1 with 16kB RAM (128kB for the DOS2)
  • 1 cartridge slot free

Specifications

  • 2 SD slots (SD up to 256MB in FAT12 and 2GB in FAT16, the second slot is disabled on the cheaper model)
    • FAT 12/16 partitions (FAT16 is supported by patched MSX-DOS2 only)
    • Partitions up to 16MB under MSX-DOS1
  • Flash ROM: 512kB (can be disabled by removing the right jumper)
  • 8kB SRAM (to save temporary parameters)
  • Support R800 ROM/DRAM mode on MSX turbo R and Panasonic MSX2+ turbo mode (Put the left jumper to left to use the clock signal from the interface instead of the clock from Z80 to support Z80 with turbo)

  • LOADROM.COM - ROM loader (Runs the Roms and Megaroms from MSX RAM)
  • Sofarun - File manager with CAS, DSK and ROM loaders included
