BCF

Ruud joined the BCF team after a fellow student brought him in contact with Koert van Mensvoort - the BCF Chief. BCF sold Ruud's first solo demo (ACE SCC demo) before Koert officialy asked Ruud to join the team. His first contribution was creating the Snout Christmas Demo for Diskstation 3. After a couple of years at BCF, a fall-out between Ruud and the other members caused him to turn away from the group right before the release of Diskstation 5.

Solo years

After BCF Ruud collaborated with a lot of different groups and started his own music disk series called Arranger (in 1993). In 1995 Ruud quit the MSX scene to pursue other interests although he remains somewhat active in the community to this day. Post-retirement, Ruud and several other former MSX-Sceners (including Cas Cremers, Bart Roijmans, Wammes Witkop, Ivo Wubbels, Ernst Schuller and Jeroen Schmitz) made a comeback for the MSX-Reunion in Tilburg which coincided with the release of Arranger 4 (with Manuel Bilderbeek) and Arranger Gold - the first MSX Super Arranged Versions audio album created by a demo group. To this day the "Arranger Team" - a group of MSX music fans - creates new arrangements irregularly. In 1995, Ruud co-founded the professional game development studio Engine Software together with other MSX hobbyists Jeroen Schmitz, Falco Dam and Ivo Wubbels.
