SET SYSTEM on Daewoo CPC-300

Effect

Defines how the computer will start when there's a built-in firmware.

This command is available in the Korean MSX2 computers, and only the Daewoo CPC-300 launches directly a built-in firmware, called MSX-TUTOR.

The Daewoo CPC-400 and CPC-400S machines don't have this firmware. The MSX-TUTOR firmware is present in the Daewoo CPC-300E computer, but remains 'invisible' because this machine does not have a Real Time Clock (RTC).

Syntax

SET SYSTEM [<Mode>]

Parameter

<Mode>
0: starts the built-in firmware
1: goes directly to MSX-BASIC

Remark: On CPC-300, you can quit the MSX-TUTOR by pressing the SELECT key. After a reset, you will go to MSX-BASIC.

Storage in the RTC

The Real Time Clock (RTC) is a small storage of 53 bytes in blueMSX (52 bytes in openMSX).

SET SYSTEM modifies actually the parameter about the printertype that is stored at #24 in blueMSX (#23 in openMSX) with other parameters. The MSX-TUTOR is skipped afer booting when this parameter corresponds to No MSX printer. Check SET SCREEN for more infos.
