Description
The Sanyo MPC-100 is the adaptation for the British market of the MPC-6. There is no lightpen interface. The integrated light-pen holder is typically covered by a plastic cover plate with 64K written on it.
The machine has only one cartridge slot, but there's an expansion bus: it can be used as second cartridge slot with an adapter, but was also initially conceived for the MEB-01 slot expander, connected to the MPC-X, a Graphic Expander Unit which adds MSX2 palette, high-resolution, superimposing, still function and zooming and uses lightpen. Note however that Sanyo has never released the MPC-X in Europe.
This computer was sold with software on tape:
- a compilation with two games
- Typing Tutor, including a demo and a keyboard trainer
Due to the Japanese manufacturers having missed the critical British 1984 Christmas season sales, and finding themselves in a saturated market in early 1985 with a surplus of machines, they were offered for sale in other European countries from Spring 1985, such as the Netherlands.
