The Sanyo MPC-25 a.k.a. Wavy25 is a computer that is very similar to the Philips NMS-8250, but has less RAM (64kB instead of 128kB) and only one cartridge slot.

This is not surprising, since both companies were working together, what explains the strong resemblances in the design of several MSX2 computers, while targeting different markets (Japan for Sanyo, Europe for Philips).

This machine comes with a separate keyboard and in 4 different versions:

Product Region Release Price VRAM FDD Extra
MPC-25FS JP 1985 (?) 128kB 1DD JIS1 Kanji "Macro Word Processor" on disk (?)
MPC-25F JP 1985-12 ¥118,000 64kB 1DD JIS1 Kanji "Macro Word Processor" on disk
MPC-25FD JP 1985-12 ¥135,000 128kB 2DD JIS1 Kanji "Macro Word Processor" on disk
MPC-25FK JP 1986-04 ¥125,000 128kB 2DD Address book software, Kanji-ROM Level 1 (JIS1),
connector for second external disk drive

The main unit is always in white, the keyboard in gray and the special keys in black, the other keys can be gray or yellow.

While it may appear that there is space for a second internal disk drive, this space cannot be used as such due to the way the video, diskdrive (and kanji) PCB has been placed inside the computer. However, the MPC-25FK model has a connector for a second external diskdrive.

The MPC-25FD has been localised for

The MPC-25 is a MSX2 with a Z80A from NEC (D780C-1) and an MSX-Engine S3527 from Yamaha.

On the MPC-25F version, SCREEN 7 and 8 can't be used because the VRAM size is only 64kB.
