Description
Computer
The Sanyo MPC-2500FD is the adaptation of the MPC-25FD computer, also known as the Wavy 25, for the Soviet Union. It was not sold in shops and could only be used in some schools or administrations.
This computer comes with only 1 cartridge slot and 1 disk drive, but there's a location planned for the addition of a second disk drive. It was mainly used by teachers in network with the MPC-2300.
It has a Russian keyboard and a non-standard modem with DIP (Dual Inline Package) switch (CALL COMINI does not work). This system seems to be similar to the switch on the Yamaha YIS-503IIIR and Yamaha YIS-805/128R2 computers. The dip switches probably allow to enable, disable and configure the modem.
It is unsure to what refers the C8 part added on the MPC-2300 label, maybe it means "Class 8" and would be similar to the system on the Yamaha computers: in this MSX-Network, up to 8 student machines are connected to a teacher machine using one of the floppy disk drives for centralised file storage.
