Description

The Yamaha V9990 evaluation board was provided to manufacturers wishing to manufacture hardware powered with the V9990. The kit consists of a V9990 main board containing everything it will possibly need to work such as Kanji-ROM, superimpose/digitize interface, multiple clock generators, analog video and panel (digital flat panel) outputs, and a computer interface containing an address decoder and some switches to connect (or not) some control signals. It was supplied with computer interface boards for MSX, PC-98 and IBM-PC systems.

Switches on MSX interface board

SW1 Port address settings

Determine the higher 4 bits on I/O port address decoder (ON=L, OFF=H)

On the picture above (MSX Interface) we can see ON OFF OFF ON, which means L H H L or 6 in hexadecimal, so it is configured to work on same addresses Sunrise GFX9000 (or its clones) works.
